Legomania!

One of the best parts about being a stay-at-home Dad is the extra one-on-one time I get to spend with the kids. And, of all the things that Ethan likes to do, building Legos is by far his favorite. A rambunctious boy during other times of the day, but when he's playing with his Legos, he's completely focused. He can play quietly with them for hours. Building (and destroying) cities, vehicles, and monsters. All day long. He even built (from scratch) a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. Not bad for a kid who's only 5.

Our vacation week projects included building the two Jurassic Park sets that he got for Christmas, as well as designing and building two additional dinosaurs (a T-Rex & Brontosaurus) to go with them. We're also in the process of re-building an Airplane that my oldest son used to play with when he was younger. We've been hunting down the critical parts that have been scattered through the various Lego boxes and slowly assembling it. Bit by bit.

It's been a challenge, but it's also been a lot of fun. Kind of like parenting!
