A River Runs Through It

Our house in Ellsworth is situated on a small peninsula (also known as Indian Point) that juts out into the confluence of The Union River and Card Brook. We are about an 1/8th of a mile from the water and often take walks down there to soak in it's quiet beauty.

At high tide we sit on a wooden bench, well above the rivers edge, and look for wildlife, or fishing boats. At low tide, we walk out along its stone covered shores and look for "skipping" rocks, or some other sort of treasures.

It's an extremely peaceful place to be. And, I feel so very fortunate that it's right in our own backyard. Literally!
